VACCINE MVA-COVID-19(S) (CNB-CSIC)
Mariano Esteban and Juan García Arriaza’s project, CSIC-Biofabri, consists of using an inactivated virus of the smallpox family to transport and insert the Spike protein of SARS-CoV-2, thus allowing the virus to enter the cells. In this way human immunisation is achieved by creating antibodies against the protein. This prototype has shown 100% efficiency in mice and will soon begin clinical phases. Biofabri is the joint sponsor and reponsible for developing the prototype for future testing on healthy volunteers.

VACCINE DNA PPAL-COVID19 (CSIC)
Vicente Larraga’s vaccine project consists of placing a SARS-CoV-2 antigen gene in a DNA synthetic transporter (a plasmid) that can be inserted into the patient’s organism to induce protection against the infection. This project is at the preclinical phase in animal models
